Visitor permits for trout and coarse fishing on the club's waters around Killin, Perthshire. Your receipt is your permit: keep it on your phone or print it, and show it if asked on the water. Day permits do not cover salmon fishing.

The waters
Killin & Breadalbane Angling Club waters lie at the west end of Loch Tay, part of the River Tay system — one of the most prestigious fisheries in Europe. Your permit covers the club's agreed waters, which include:
- The west banks of Loch Tay and the loch surface (boat fishing is fly only — no spinning or trolling).
- The River Dochart and River Lochay (River Lochay is fly only).
- Hill lochs including Lochan na Lairige, Lochan Breaclaich, Lochan nan Cat (Ben Lawers Nature Reserve) and Lochan nan Geadas (all fly only).
Species present include brown trout, rainbow trout, Arctic charr, grayling, perch and pike. Some stretches of bank are excluded from club agreements for safety, privacy or jurisdiction reasons — please observe displayed notices. See kbac.fish for detailed beat guides and maps.
Seasons
- Trout & charr: 15 March – 6 October.
- Perch & roach: from 15 March (April is closed for all coarse species — spawning).
- Pike: 1 January – 31 March and 1 May – 31 December.
- Salmon: not covered by day permits.
Key rules
The River Tay system is covered by a Protection Order — fishing without written permission is a criminal offence. Your permit is your permission, so carry it and show it if asked by a club member, warden, bailiff or police officer. The main rules:
- Trout: one hand-held rod. Fly only on the River Lochay, hill lochs and dams. Catch limit five fish. No live bait or diving minnows. All Arctic charr must be returned.
- Coarse: barbless or semi-barbless hooks at all times. Pike fishing requires wire traces and suitable unhooking equipment; all pike must be carefully returned. No keep nets.
- No trolling at any time, and no night fishing on the north shore of Loch Tay (Morenish Farm to Lawers Burn), the River Lochay, or Lochan na Lairige.
- Access: follow the Countryside Code — secure gates, keep clear of livestock and crops, take litter home, no open fires (camping stoves permitted). Do not block farm roads or use passing places for parking. Respect exclusion zones (private dwellings, moorings, dams, hydro installations and bridges).
